Sprint MG client, Jordan Farr has continued his excellent start to the season by being announced as Player of the Week for Week 3 in the USL Championship.
Farr has deservedly been voted the USL Championship Player of the Week, presented by Konami eFootball, after making an injury-time penalty save, to earn San Antonio a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC. During the game, he also made a number of key saves late in the first half. The penalty save, diving to his right earned San Antonio all three points in the final moment of the game, in front of a celebratory sellout crowd (7938).
The reigning USL Championship Goalkeeper of the Year, Farr has made a stellar start to the new campaign which continued this past Saturday night at Toyota Field. The 28-year-old made a pair of crucial saves late in the first half to keep the rematch of last season’s Western Conference Final in the USL Championship Playoffs scoreless, but after SAFC had taken the lead with seven minutes to go he delivered another signature moment with a diving stop to his right to keep out a penalty kick by Zach Zandi in the eighth minute of stoppage time. The save served as the final moment of the match as a sellout crowd of 7,938 fans rose in celebration in the aftermath.
The USL National Media Panel, made up of representatives from each media marketing in USL selects The Championship’s Player of the Week. Jordan Farr is also up for the ‘Save of the Week Award’, an accolade he has already won twice this season.
