Class victory for Butel and Artline Racing Georgia in Abu Dhabi

Dec 19, 2019

Jack Butel and Artline Racing Georgia were crowned GT1 Cup Champions at the 2019 Gulf 12 hours hosted at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi.

Jack was back behind the wheel of the #12 Lamborghini Super Trofeo, sharing the car alongside team owner Shota Abkhazava, Steven Liquorish and Sergei Afanasiev.

Butel was delighted with the team victory, “It’s been a fantastic weekend. From practice, to a solid qualifying session gave us the platform to do well in the race. To win the GT1 Cup and finish 8th overall, in a very strong field, is an amazing accomplishment.”

The 2019 Gulf 12 Hours attracted entries from 32 teams from around the world. The race is run in two six-hour segments and allowed Jack to gain solid seat time in the Lamborghini as he prepares for the 2020 season.

“Races like the Gulf 12 Hours provide the perfect opportunity for me to develop as a driver. It’s always nice to end the year on a high with a class win in Abu Dhabi and podium finish in Jerez. I’m looking forward to joining up with Artline Racing Georgia team again in a few weeks, in Dubai.”

Butel will start 2020 as part of Artline Racing Georgia’s team racing in the 24H Dubai, held on the 9-11 January 2020 with the hope of achieving another podium.
